The Keokuk Renewable Energy Center is a hydroelectric power plant that has been providing clean, low cost, and reliable energy to local homes for over 100 years. Debris from the upstream side of the Mississippi River causes inefficiencies in power production. The project included working collaboratively with multiple design groups to design and build a machine to remove debris from the intake gates of the turbines, process it, and then dispose of it on the downstream side of the dam.
